Late Recertification Situations

 

All RPSGT credential holders are required to recertify every 5 years.  The recertification dates are listed on each RPSGT certificate.  If you don't recertify by your stated recertification date, depending on the amount of time that has passed the following requirements apply:

Situation 1:  I am past my recertification date but less than 90 days expired

This means you are recertifying after your recertification date but it has been less than 90 days.

Must pay:

  •     $100 Recertification Fee
  •     $200 Re-instatement Fee

Must Submit:

  •    50 Continuing Education Credits earned during your last active credential window
  •    Copy of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification card
  •    Credits and payment must either be entered online or the PDF Recertification Application must be submitted via fax or mail.

How to Recertify:

Situation 2:  I am more than 90 days past my recertification date but less than a year

This means you are more than 90 days past your recertification date but less than a year.  You are required to take and pass the RPSGT exam and your credential number will remain the same.

Must pay:

  •     $100 Recertification Fee
  •     $200 Re-instatement Fee
  •     $450 RPSGT Exam Fee

Situation 3:  I am over a year past my recertification date but less than 5 years.

This means you have possessed an active RPSGT credential within the past 5 years that is currently expired.  You must apply and pass the examination within 1-5 years of your credential expiration date and you will be able to retain your credential number.  If less than 1 year since credential expiration, recertification procedures apply, please see the above situations.

Must pay:

  • $450 RPSGT Exam Fee

Must Submit:

  •    RPSGT Exam Application
  •    Previous RPSGT credential number and expiration date.
  •    Documentation of 50 continuing education credits earned during your last active credential window.  Continuing education credits must comply with the requirements outlined in current RPSGT Recertification Guidelines
  •    Copy of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification card

How to Recertify:

  •    You must submit the RPSGT Exam Application with required documents and pass the RPSGT exam.
