BRPT Names Robert Bergquist Resource And Education Director
Experienced Developer of Instructive and Professional Development Materials To Spearhead Educational Efforts

McLean, Virginia – September 16, 2013 – The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) named Robert Bergquist, CAE, BRPT’s Resource and Education Director.  Bergquist, who began his position on September 1, has extensive domestic and international experience creating professional development and education programs as well as managing certification programs.

“This is an important new position for BRPT and we’re delighted to support it with an experienced, full time Resource and Education Director,” said Cindy Altman, RPSGT, R. EEG/EP T.  “I’m confident Robert’s expertise and skill set will successfully drive our efforts to enhance our existing examination resources and educational programs while creating new offerings.”

Bergquist will maintain and develop print and computer-based candidate examination resources and seek out new opportunities to assist candidates in preparation for examinations. He will support the continuing education needs of certification holders and will plan, coordinate and facilitate the delivery of BRPT symposiums, the Clinical Sleep Educator Program, and other educational offerings.

 “I’m excited to serve as BRPT’s Resource and Education Director and to advance the services BRPT offers,” said Robert Bergquist, CAE.  “In addition, I look forward to working with key stakeholders to ensure we are offering the right resources and activities to meet the needs of future and current credential holders, and to further the field of sleep medicine and patient care.”

Prior to joining BRPT, Bergquist was Director, Member Communities for CompTIA, an IT industry trade association. There he oversaw the development and management activities of the CompTIA IT Security Community and the Healthcare IT Community. He coordinated with each community’s chair, members, and association representatives to ensure they had the tools and support needed to achieve the goals and to identify future opportunities.

Bergquist also served as Senior Manager of Education and Conference Development for ISACA where he was responsible for programs that met the continuing professional educational requirements for four respected and diverse certification programs. At ISACA he led teams that evaluated trends, designed curricula, delivered leading edge education techniques, and identified timely, relevant and prescient topics for multi-distribution channel face-to-face and web-based education including conferences, symposia, forums, user conventions, academic training, webinars, e-symposia and virtual conferences.
