The Andrea Patterson Memorial Scholarship Program awards a $2,500 tuition grant each year to a promising student of polysomnography. Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in or accepted by a CAAHEP-accredited program in PSG or a CoARC-accredited program with a PSG add-on.
Field is currently a Personal Care Technician/Unit Clerk at the Medical Center of Lewisville in Lewisville, Texas where she enjoys working and communicating with patients, doctors and nurses.
Said BRPT President Theresa Krupski, RPSGT, RRT "I'm delighted to recognize such a hard working and compassionate student who approaches both her job and studies with diligence and an eye towards the patient's point of view."
"As a full time student with a full time job as a patient care technician, I'm actively preparing myself with the skills and knowledge from both work and school to provide the best possible care for patients in need of good sleep," said Euisun Field.
Field also noted that moving forward she will need to cut down on her work hours to meet her academic and clinical requirements. "This scholarship signifies a 'green light' to me. I'm grateful for this honor as it will help me focus on my studies while providing financial support for tuition and books."
Added Krupski, "Euisun's application detailed a very well thought out plan for pursuing a career as a Polysomnographic Technologist and she expressed great excitement about entering a growing field with numerous opportunities."
